Jai Shri Nandalala!
Nandalala Mission will be celebrating the Tamil month of “Adi” this Friday with a Darshan of our Founder, Her Holiness Pujya Shri Mathioli Saraswathy, in Silicon Valley. We will also release “Speaking Virtues,” the English translation of one of her books, “Pesum Unarvugal,” on the same day.
“Adi” or “Ashada” month, as it is referred to in northern India, is a very significant month in the lives of “Devi” worshippers. Occurring between July and August every year, it marks the birth of Sri Andal, the beginning of the Dakshinayana Punyakala, and the observance of Varalakshmi Pooja, Adi Pooram, and Ashada Ekadesi festivals. Every Tuesday and Friday of this month is also celebrated with special pujas for the Devi. Just as the month of Margazhi (or Dhanur) is associated with the worship of “Shri Vishnu,” the month of “Adi” has special significance for Sri Mariyamman, Sri Lakshmi, Sri Akhilandeshwari, and Sri Andal.
This Friday, July 15th, is doubly rewarding to have darshan of Her Holiness Shri Mathioli Saraswathy since it happens to be a Friday as well as Ashada Ekadesi. Please join us at this satsang to experience her Grace and honor her achievements as a writer.
