4. May 1, 2014 at 6:30PM – Lakshmi Kubera Pooja on Akshya Tritiya Day

Nandalala Mission, NJ – Lakshmi Kubera Pooja
In the presence and blessings of Pujyasri Mathioli R. Saraswathy (Pujyasri Akka), Founder Nandalala Mission, Nandalala Mission is organizing Lakshmi Kubera Pooia on Akshaya Tritiya day, May 1st, 2014 in Plainsboro, NJ

Akshaya Tritiya is a very auspicious day – Here are some of the great events that happened on this day:

1. Lord Ganesha started writing the epic Mahabharata under Ved Vyasa’s dictation.
2. Great Parashurama, the sixth Avataram of the Lord Vishnu was born on this day.
3. Sacred River Ganges descended on earth from the heavens.
4. Devi Annapoorni was born on this day.
5. Lord Kubera received his wealth and position as custodian of wealth and property with Goddess Lakshmi.
6. In Mahabharata, Yudhishtira receives the Akshaya patra, which he used to serve food for all the needy in his kingdom.
7. Sudama, the best friend of Lord Krishna visited the Lord after he became King. With nothing to offer, Sudama takes with him Poha (puffed rice) and offers it to his friend. On his return Sudama finds his hut changed to a palace.
8. Most recently, Adi Shankara recited the Kanaka Dhara Stotram on this day for the sake of the poor couple at whose house he stopped for Bhiksha and was offered their only available gooseberry after which the goddess showered the couple with gold.

Akshaya Tritiya is considered as the most golden day of the year because the word Akshaya means the most “Eternal” that which never diminishes. Any initiative/business initiated on this day will result in good fortune.

We are indeed very fortunate to have Pujyasri Akka/Amma, the Goddess Lakshmi herself, amongst us on the Aksheya Tritiya day to bless us and give us the opportunity to participate in the Lakshmi Kubera pooja which is very auspicious.

Lakshmi Kubera Pooja

The Devi made Lord Kubera the lord of wealth and material. As the God of wealth and material, his responsibilities are to distribute them while we all know that Goddess Lakshmi is the one who creates the wealth. Hence you often see Lord Kubera shown as showering gold coins and navaratnas (gems).

Performing pooja to Lord Kubera is believed to enrich one’s life. Hence, Sri Lakshmi Kubera Pooja is performed to have a wealthy and comfortable life.

We have the unique opportunity of participating in the Pooja on Akshaya Tritiya in the presence and blessings of Pujyasri Akka (Goddess Lakshmi herself). Once in a lifetime opportunity! This Pooja will be followed by Pujyasri Akka’s darshan.
